“Party of One” Poster/Postcard

Noel Williams is a clown. Not your stereotypical “under the Big Top” kind of character, though — her approach is unusual, spirited, and “charmingly crazy”. Noel has her own alt-clown flavour, a fearless version of the French Renaissance-era art of “bouffon. In her wildly popular one-woman show she’s “Captain Melisande” — battling turnstiles, having dinner dates with luggage, and clowning with a 2 1/2 foot version of Gone With the Wind.
So. With these promotional pieces I simply amplified her unique style and period flair — the predominance of red and those beautiful engraved wing graphics were a no-brainer; onstage she takes metaphorical flight.
To Noel’s delight (and mine), this promotion earned the “Best Postcard” award at the 2007 San Francisco Fringe Festival.
